I just put a *big* hole in the gib (is it drywall in American?) in my bedroom. How was I to know it was *completely hollow* right there? What possessed me to pick up a hammer? One minute I was safely on the net, the next I thought "I might actually hang that picture that's been behind my door for a month." What a fool!

I only knew the house was somewhat hollow because I ran my bike through the garage wall once and noticed that the wooden beams are only behind some parts of the dry wall...

Just remember to knock the walls next time before you try to imbed a nail into it :)

But I'm *pretty* sure I used to put picture hooks up with gay abandon. Does that mean the gib at my Mum's is better quality than here (house vs conversion apartment)? Or was I just really lucky before? *cries*

Our walls are made of paper. Find the nearest beam, hang the picture over it so it's covering the hole!

There doesn't seem to be one! Anywhere nearby! And I made the hole worse by looking...

I'm going to have to plaster it. Good thing I learnt how by watching murderers cover up a hole in their wall on Criminal Intent last week... Who says tv isn't educational? :-(
