Tidying up "Memories" in preparation for [livejournal.com profile] sv_undercover. Repost of all [livejournal.com profile] wednesday100 drabbles in one place.

dammitcarl
Clark and Lex have broken up. Get them back together in 100 words.

challenge the second
Last week we got them back together and everyone was happy. I promised I would rip out hearts next time. Clark and Lex are breaking up. Show it from another person's point of view.

a (space)ship of fools
I woke up too late today to fall for any pranks. So, I'm extending the spirit of April Fool's for another day and giving you another chance to make me believe a story that isn't true. If you're not happy with Smallville, Kansas, put our familiar characters into an alternate universe.

nouns are fun
Through the eyes of any Smallville character, describe their favourite person, place, or thing.

words are fun, too
Find the word from your birthday in the word of the day archives. You have a few years to make your choice from. Write a drabble using that word.

obscured
A meeting in secret.

we don't need no stinkin' letter s
With all the attention given to the letter S last week, the rest of the alphabet must have felt left out. Everyone gets to feel left out today. Write a drabble without the use of any letter of your choice.

last week I revealed myself as a prophet
This is the week in Kansas when the lights came on.

just sit right back and you'll hear a tale
You guys are still staring at Lex's half-nakedness, aren't you? No, that's cool. We all are. Islandfic, and I'm not being specific about which island.

humming
Ah, music, my old friend. I think everyone can agree about songfics, but music is undeniable inspiration. Pick your favourite song, put it on repeat, and write a drabble to match the mood.

goodbye
Because it fits, let’s make this week’s challenge all about goodbyes.

past is prologue
Tell us about the past.

challenges of w100 past I
challenges of w100 past II
In honor of the New Year's holiday, choose any topic from a past challenge.

time is of the essence
Time loops, time warps, time limits, anything to do with time.

a different point of view I
a different point of view II
Take a drabble you previously wrote and rewrite it from another POV.

in memoriam
A tribute to Christopher Reeve - courage in the face of adversity, triumph in the face of overwhelming odds, the value of hope and positivity, and the endurance of the human spirit.

It's been months since I posted a drabble in the Wednesday100, but this week I was enthused and did two.

And has prompted me, buoyed no doubt by the promise of virtual rum, to abandon Lex and Clark for Jack and Stephen. It's only a drabble, but more will no doubt follow. The challenge was punishment, the crime unspecified.

Well I haven't written one of these for quite a while...

Virtual House-keeping

Just to keep things tidy, here's the last few Wednesday 100 drabbles I wrote.

(I don't usually double post, but since I suggested this one I decided to make the most of it! Challenger's licence.)

There's a list of eight overdue, due and nearly due assignments pegged to my fridge. It taunts me every time I go to get a coke. And yet. And yet. For some strange reason it's not having the intended effect, which was to get me to actually do those eight assignments. I don't know how I got so behind, but somehow I haven't had enough time for my own life in the last two months. The weird thing though, the really bizarre thing, is that when I lie in bed at night feeling stressed about it, I actually feel more guilty about the fact that I never posted the conclusion to my historical AU. People have asked me for it... Guys, I swear, I'm on it. It'll be up within days. Just let me finish the latest of the late assignments first!

In the meantime, here's a tiny something I couldn't resist this afternoon.

It's Wednesday! Well okay, it's Thursday, but I haven't gotten a chance to do one of these for ages. World enough and time today.

Archiving and avoidance

My house is never cleaner than when I have exams or major assignments. I dust every surface, polish the silver, weed the garden... This a phenomenon of at least ten years' standing now, so I'm resigned to it. Anything to avoid study.

So... today I'm cyber-tidying. I've moved all my stray essays and assignments and WIPs into neat little folders on my desktop. And it occurs to me that since I'm too technophobic to build a website I should just assemble my fiction right here on my journal. At least it'll be in one place. So here goes. I'll start with the W100 drabbles, and work my way up.

I'm not including the first one I ever wrote, the makeup, a) because it's 200 words not 100, and b) because I look at it now and realise it's a Mary-Sue. The wheelbarrows of black, undying shame... But that Kiwi taxi driver who saves the day seemed cool at the time... Sobs... If you must read it, it's got an entry to itself. Seek and you shall find. And if I never commit this crime again, then I'll be eternally grateful to my friend the heroic cabbie.

I swear, it took me longer to write these thousand words than the ten thousand I got done on my thesis in the last fortnight. Every single word is so important when every single word counts. I made it though, ten chapters of exactly one hundred words each, and I'm just squeaking in under the deadline too. At 3am this morning I didn't think I would... Ah, time management.

Oh, if it wasn't obvious, this is of course for TimIan's Tower of Drabbleon Challenge. Bless you Ian, what a brilliant idea.

This piece was inspired by the drabble I wrote for the Wednesday 100 Alternate Universe challenge. A rose by any other name, and I think it's fairly clear who's who. The original drabble was the last one.

Okay, okay, so it's two hundred words, not one. I've always had trouble meeting my word-limits. Schoolmates frantically padded their essays, but me... I pruned.
